To keep up with demands of the industries seeking Anoka Tech grads and ensure the college continues to provide the finest career and technical education in Minnesota, Anoka Tech constantly works to modernize equipment, classrooms and curriculum. Recently, four academic program areas experienced significant upgrades. Gerrilyn Kujawa started at Anoka Tech seeking a career that would support her and fuel her desire to be creative. 30 years after graduating from high school, Robbin Mullins ’15 came to Anoka Technical College for a change in career.
Natalie Zabrzenski, a student in the Information Technology program at Anoka Technical College recently competed in the annual Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference. Zabrzenski placed in three categories, securing a spot in the national competition this May. On Thursday, Dec. 19, Anoka Technical College celebrated the achievements of 212 graduates representing 20 different programs at the 2019 fall commencement ceremony.

More than 50 denominations and religions are present in Minneapolis; a majority of the city's population are Christian. Settlers who arrived from New England were for the most part Protestants, Quakers, and Universalists. The oldest continuously used church, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, was built in 1856 by Universalists and soon afterward was acquired by a French Catholic congregation. The first Jewish congregation was formed in 1878 as Shaarai Tov, and built Temple Israel in 1928.
Located on the Mississippi Flyway, Minnesota hosts migratory waterfowl such as geese and ducks, and game birds such as grouse, pheasants, and turkeys. It is home to birds of prey, including the largest number of breeding pairs of bald eagles in the lower 48 states as of 2007, red-tailed hawks, and snowy owls. Hawk Ridge is one of the premier bird watching sites in North America. The lakes teem with sport fish such as walleye, bass, muskellunge, and northern pike, and brook, brown, and rainbow trout populate streams in the southeast and northeast. Industrial development and the rise of manufacturing caused the population to shift gradually from rural areas to cities during the early 20th century.

The bridge opened in 1967 and was Minnesota's third busiest, carrying 140,000 vehicles daily. It experienced a catastrophic failure during the evening rush hour on August 1, 2007, killing 13 people and injuring 145. The NTSB cited a design flaw as the likely cause of the collapse, noting that an excessively thin gusset plate ripped along a line of rivets, and that additional weight on the bridge at the time contributed to the catastrophic failure. The college also plans to focus on growing programs where students have expressed high interest. The project also included a restoration of the capitol's many works of fine art, which prompted discussions over some paintings in the building that feature controversial depictions of American Indians. A series of public input meetings were held around the state to gather feedback and consider options for new policies regarding art in the renovated building.

RNs often supervise others and count on their critical thinking skills to perform assessments and make judgments about patient care. As an LPN, you can work in long-term care facilities, assisted living centers, in-home healthcare, clinics, outpatient/ambulatory care centers, rehabilitation centers and more. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects strong job growth for LPNs from 2020 to 2030; with a national projected job growth of 9%, which is much faster than average and translates to an estimated 65,700 new jobs. A Licensed Practical Nurse provides hands-on nursing care, working under the direction of healthcare workers such as registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and physicians. This can include monitoring patients’ health, administering basic care, reporting patients’ concerns and updating health records. The laser scanning done to confirm the accuracy of the digital model also showed that Gilbert’s original architectural drawings proved to be very accurate to what was built. The Minnesota State Capitol underwent a comprehensive restoration project from 2013 to 2017, the first major renovation since the building first opened. As time went on, the aging neighborhood surrounding the Capitol increasingly deteriorated. In 1968 the red drapes and leather furnishings were replaced with gold velvet curtains and modern armchairs covered in mustard yellow upholstery. With a space shortage in the Capitol, Governor LeVander decided the room should be converted to office use and closed off to the public.
Average annual precipitation ranges from 19 to 35 inches , and droughts occur every 10 to 50 years. New technology increased farm productivity through automation of feedlots for hogs and cattle, machine milking at dairy farms, and raising chickens in large buildings. Planting became more specialized, with hybridization of corn and wheat, and farm machinery such as tractors and combines became the norm. University of Minnesota professor Norman Borlaug contributed to these developments as part of the Green Revolution. Suburban development accelerated due to increased postwar housing demand and convenient transportation.

Logging, farming, and railroads were mainstays of Minnesota's early economy. The sawmills at Saint Anthony Falls and logging centers of Pine City, Marine on St. Croix, Stillwater, and Winona processed vast quantities of timber. Innovations by Minneapolis millers led to the production of Minnesota "patent" flour, which commanded almost double the price of "bakers'" or "clear" flour which it replaced. By 1900 Minnesota mills, led by Pillsbury, Northwestern, and the Washburn-Crosby Company , were grinding 14.1% of the nation's grain.
When the building reopened, two of these paintings, Father Hennepin Discovering the Falls of St. Anthony, and the Treaty of Traverse des Sioux were relocated while others remained in place. Gilbert had originally planned that art decorating the capitol interior would be mainly allegorical in nature. However, the Board of State Capitol Commissioners was approached by American Civil War veterans and Minnesota legislators who felt the artwork in the Capitol should depict real events in the states past rather than allegorical imagery. Additional funds were lacking to build a desired immense obelisk outside the Capitol that was to be the memorial to veterans. These issues convinced Gilbert to amend his vision and include Civil War homages inside the Capitol building.
